Annual Support Campaign

WHY GIVE TO THE Y?

Your gift will change lives. Every dollar given to the YMCA funds programs and initiatives that help children, adults and families to learn, grow, and thrive. From preventing chronic disease and closing the achievement gap to teaching life saving skills and reviving hope– the YMCA of Greater St. Petersburg has been working to strengthen the foundation of the St. Petersburg community since 1920. At our Y, no one is turned away due to the inability to pay. In addition to the countless programs and opportunities made free to the public, your gift also provides scholarship support to ensure equitable access for all.

The true impact your gift makes is best told by those who benefit from your generosity. Here are just a few of their stories...

Suyin"MY NAME IS SUYIN...

Health and fitness have always been great passions of mine. That all changed when I was diagnosed with cancer, as my general health was greatly compromised.

My biggest challenges have been feeling lost after treatment, feeling frustrated with my loss of physical abilities, and finding others who can relate to me.

I feel blessed to have found the LIVESTRONG® at the YMCA

program. This program is helping me regain back my identity and happiness. It has given me hope that I can build my strength and improve my health, despite chemotherapy and radiation side effects.

One of the best gifts of this program has been meeting others like me, and having a wonderful trainer who truly cares, listens, and understands survivors. This amazing program continues to make an enormous impact on cancer survivors, like me.

My road to recovery has been much smoother, positive and brighter because of the YMCA."

Today, there are over 21 million cancer survivors in the United States. The LIVESTRONG® at the YMCA program was specifically designed to help cancer survivors, like Suyin, regain their health and prevent cancer recurrence. The program is free of charge to participate, fully funded through our Annual Community Support Campaign.

Help us help more people like Suyin.
