School Age Programs are not just a place for your children to hang out while you are at work. We have a unique curriculum, researched and developed from the most current and cutting edge educational and character building resources available. YMCA Dance Academy
The YMCA Dance Academy offers programs for all ages. From Ballet, Jazz and Hip Hop to Adult Tap classes, there is a class for everyone keeping kids and adults active and healthy! Kelly Homman, Dance Director, studied dance with Rose Marie Dickman and BalletMet Columbus. She has choreographed and directed numerous productions including the Nutcracker, Cinderella and Peter Pan. She has successfully passed ballet examinations for the Cecchetti Council of America, a professional ballet organization for teachers, and studied the Royal Academy of Dance's preschool ballet curriculum. She is currently the Dance Adjunct at Perkins Elementary and is thrilled to establish a dance academy for the YMCA of Greater St. Petersburg.

Private Swim Lessons
Available for two year olds through adults who want some extra attention and more instruction. All of our private lessons are taught by our own certified instructors.
Adult Swim Lessons
Classes consist of instruction in basic swimming, stroke techniques and personal safety skills. Class is set up to move at your own pace with no pressure to advance too quickly.
Parent/Child (Ages 6-36 Months)
Emphasizes water adjustment, parenting skills and water safety. Special attention is given to the varying developmental stages of this group. Goals for this program include the child's enjoyment and adjustment in and around the water, while instructing parents how to assist in the development of their children's future swimming skills.
Preschool Lessons (Ages 3-5 yrs)
Children work under the direct supervision of qualified instructors to learn basic swimming techniques and safety in and around the water. Children will move at their own pace.

Semi-Private Lessons (Ages 3 - 5 yrs)
This class is the same as the regular preschool class with a smaller student/teacher ratio.
Youth Lessons (Ages 6-12 yrs)
Develop the child toward student-centered learning. This forty-five minute program offers personal safety, personal growth, stroke development, water games, sports and basic water rescue. Child should be aware of and follow pool rules. The instructor will teach swimming techniques that are matched according to each child's skill and learning abilities. The more advanced your child becomes in this program, the more strokes he/she will learn. Remember, each child progresses at a different pace!

Water Fitness Classes
Water Aerobics
Develop muscle tone and flexibility, while the buoyancy of the water cushions the joints. Exercises can be adjusted for low, medium or high impact. You do not have to be a swimmer to attend.
Deep Water Aerobics
Develop muscle tone and flexibility. Use flotation devices along with the buoyancy of water to cushion your joints. Exercises can be adjusted for low, medium, or high impact. You must be a swimmer to attend.
Happy Hinges
This is an opportunity for individuals with bone, muscle, or joint problems to exercise through a workout that fits their needs. Specially designed, low-impact workout consisting of three categories: range of motion exercises, strengthening exercises, and conditioning exercises. Warm water and slow movements can also help relieve pain and stiffness.
Moving Forward
Specialized program for people who want one-on-one assisted exercise in the water. These sessions are held in chest-deep water and use a variety of equipment and aquatic apparatuses. Great for victims of stroke, accidents, CP, etc.

Swim Team (Ages 8-18 yearsOpen/Family Swim)
o Available for children and youth interested in joining a swim team. Two different sessions are offered; Pre-Swim Team and Swim Team. Both programs are held monthly beginning on the 1st of every month and ending on the last day of the month. Swim Team is offered Monday through Friday from 6:00pm to 7:30pm ($70 for members, $110 for non-members) and Pre-Swim is held Monday through Thursday from 6:00pm to 7:00pm ($60 for members, $100 for non-members)
Open/Family Swim
Open for your swimming enjoyment. There will be no classes and all swimming activities will be open to members. Children 8 years and older are allowed in the pool without supervision; any child younger then 8 needs to have parental supervision. *No exceptions*
Lap Swim
Pool time for lap swim only. Lap swim is an Adult Fitness Activity. Youth under the age of 13 are not allowed to participate. Youth under the age of 16 must pass a swim test in order to participate. Masks, fins, snorkels, and kickboards are allowed. Noodles and other instructional floatation devices are not allowed in the lap lanes. If more than two swimmers are in a lane, you must stay to the right and circle swim. **A minimum of one lap lane will be open at all times.

Youth Sports
The Y is the starting point for many youth to learn about becoming and staying active, and developing healthy habits they will carry with them throughout their lives. But the benefits are far greater than just physical health. Your child will build self-confidence and learn the importance of teamwork and good sportsmanship. Our program is designed with families in mind and offers flexible practice schedules, opportunity to play on the same team with friends and family, scholarship assistance, shorter seasons, and all equipment is provided. YOUTH SPORTS CAMPSLittle Dribblers A 6 to 7 week introductory program for ages 3 and 4. Practices and games held on Saturday mornings. Each player receives a YMCA reversible jersey. Focus of program centers on skill building and a fun experience for players first time playing basketball.
Youth Basketball- A 7 to 9 week program (depending on season) for ages 5 to 12. Practices held once during the week and games on Saturdays. Each player receives a YMCA reversible jersey. Three seasons held in a year in May to June, July to August, and December to February.
Blastball Soccer- A 6 to 7 week introductory program for ages 3 and 4. Practices held once during the week and games held on Saturday mornings. Each player receives a YMCA jersey. Focus of program centers on skill building and a fun experience for players first time playing soccer.
Youth Soccer- A 7 to 9 week program (depending on season) for ages 5 to 12. Practices held one or times during the week and games on Saturdays. Each player receives a YMCA pro style jersey, shorts, and socks. Two seasons held in a year in the Spring (March to May) and in the Fall (September to November).
T-ball- A 6 to 7 week introductory program for ages 3 and 4. Two seasons run in a year in the Spring (May and June) and the Winter (November and December). Practices and games held on Saturday mornings. Each player receives a YMCA jersey and hat.

Camp Essentials
HOW DO I REGISTER?
Space is limited at some YMCA Summer Camps, so sign up early!
1. Complete a registration packet for each child and return it to the
YMCA of Greater St. Petersburg Summer Camp location at which your
children) are attending.
2. At time of registration, a non-refundable registration fee and
first week of camp fees are due. The registration fee is $25 per
child, $35 per family.
PAYMENT AGREEMENT
Accepted methods of payment and due dates vary between camps.
Please check the Parent Agreement Form included in this packet from
your specific camp location.
Additional Fees:
• Any payments received after the designated due date will be charged a late fee of $2 per day.
• If you are late picking up your children), you will be charged a late fee of $10 per child for every15 minutes, or portion thereof.
• Notification will be sent to you and a $25 service charge will be assessed for any payments returned by your financial institution.
Refunds
No refunds will be provided for Day Camp unless the YMCA is notified in writing. Any written refund request must be received at least ten (10)
days prior to the start of camp sessions. Refunds will not be given once camp sessions have begun.
LUNCH
Lunch will be provided at certain camps every day June 14th-August 9th, unless otherwise noted by the site. Please check with your camp site
to verify if lunch is provided.
YMCA DISCIPLINE POLICY
1. Verbal warning to the child and parent.
2. Written warning to the parent.
3. Suspension from the program.
4. Dismissal from the program.*
Dismissal from the program for disciplinary reasons could result in permanent removal from all YMCA Programs. A decision to allow a participant to return must be made by the Executive Director. All children enrolled in YMCA Programs are expected to follow the rules established by the YMCA for the safety of the children in the program. Parents may be asked to meet with the Director if their child has continual behavior problems.
