YMCA Neighbor to Neighbor Christmas Program Back for its 29th Year
The YMCA of Greater St. Petersburg is excited to host the 29th Annual YMCA Neighbor to Neighbor Christmas Program, sponsored by Publix Super Markets Charities, Inc. This signature program provides nearly 400 underserved families and more than 800 children with the joys of Christmas. Families will receive a live tree, ornaments, a Publix gift card, books and toys. The program also strengthens and supports families with additional complementary programs throughout the year.
This annual program features three events: Bagging Day, Tree Delivery Day and Toy Box Evening. Volunteers and staff will convene at YMCA locations across St. Petersburg and Largo to put together gift bags, deliver trees and help parents pick out toys, books and games for their children. The first event, Bagging Day, will be held at Childs Park YMCA on Thursday, December 5. “The success of the program is built upon the title that names it - neighbors helping neighbors,” said YMCA of Greater St. Petersburg CEO, David Jezek. “We are thankful for the hundreds of donors and volunteers that help bring the spirit of Christmas to those in need during the holidays and throughout the year.”
Members of the community can help their neighbors in three ways: by volunteering, giving toys and donating. To sign up to volunteer, click here. To find a toy box location to drop off toys, click here. For more information about the YMCA Neighbor to Neighbor Christmas Program, click here.
