After a 33-year career with the YMCA, nine of which he served at YMCA of Greater St. Petersburg, Chief Operating Officer, Tim Staley, is retiring. His last day will be December 27, 2024.

In his time at YMCA of Greater St. Petersburg, Tim led the organization, in partnership with Pinellas County Schools, through the construction of the Speer YMCA/Mangrove Bay Middle School partnership project. Speer YMCA opened in December 2023. In addition, he coordinated the Association’s COVID response in 2020, opened the Lealman YMCA Preschool Academy (LPA) in 2018, and was instrumental in expanding infant/toddler care in the preschools, beginning with LPA.

Other highlights of Tim’s YMCA career include overseeing the construction and opening of three other YMCA facilities which were also partnership projects.

Although retiring from his position at YMCA of Greater St. Petersburg, Tim will continue to consult with YMCAs and nonprofit organizations, doing project management and strategic planning. He is looking forward to having the flexibility to spend time with his family and grandchildren.
