BRAVO Annual Dance Performance

Through the generous support of Florida Blue, our national award-winning YMCA Dance Academy presents BRAVO, an annual, stunning performance showcasing our students. This two-night event will take place June 9 & 10, 2026, at the Mahaffey Theater.

Ages 6 & Under | Tuesday, June 9, 6PM - 8PM

Levels 1 & Up | Wednesday, June 10, 7PM - 10PM

This year's performance, Through Space and Time, celebrates the incredible journey our dancers have taken. Through shifting musical eras and dynamic choreography, dancers carry the audience beyond the boundaries of the stage, reflecting how time moves both steadily and all at once.

What begins as small steps quickly builds. As dancers move across the stage, they demonstrate the motion of progress: unfolding over time, each moment building on the last. It is a celebration of progress, passion, and the shared experience of moving forward together.

For parents, this performance is a chance to see just how far their children have come. The hours of practice, the milestones reached, and the confidence gained come together in a way that feels both fleeting and lasting at the same time.

Through Space and Time is an exhibition of growth you can see, pride you can feel and memories that will remain long after the final bow. It reminds us that dance is more than just movement. Dance is a living story that honors where we've been, celebrates where we are and inspires where we are going next.

About This Event

Each year, student dancers in the award-winning YMCA Dance Academy participate in a final performance that is the culmination of the season, showcasing their hard work and progress. Called BRAVO, this annual performance has become a signature event for the YMCA of Greater St. Petersburg. This special event gives our dancers, ages 3 - 18, an opportunity to display their talents for friends and family as well as the local community.
