Water Fitness
The Y offers an array of aquatic group exercise classes designed for individuals of all ages. Classes are held in both shallow and deep water and led by our certified water fitness instructors.
Lap Swimming
Lap swimming provides a great full-body, low-impact workout that increases aerobic capacity, muscular endurance and flexibility and allows swimmers to work at their own pace. A minimum of 2 lanes are always available for lap swimming, however, additional lanes may be available periodically throughout the day. Please refer to our online and in-app schedules for the most up-to-date hours of availability.
Aqua Balance & Strength
This is a low-impact class in the pool that works on balance and strength. The class focuses on fall prevention and is taught by a licensed Physical Therapist. Participants must be able to walk independently in the water.
Aqua Pilates
Aqua Pilates is a refreshing twist on traditional mat pilates. Participants will experience the same core, glute and lower-body strengthening with the added benefits of buoyancy in the water.
Aqua Yoga
This low-impact class teaches yoga poses and breathing techniques that have been adapted to take place in the water, and will help you improve mobility and fitness with minimal impact on the joints. This class is great for people with motion restrictions or joint issues.
Aqua Zumba®
The Aqua Zumba® program gives new meaning to the idea of a refreshing workout. Integrating the Zumba philosophy with traditional aquatic fitness disciplines, Aqua Zumba® blends it all together into a low-impact aquatic workout that includes cardio-conditioning and body-toning.
Happy Hinges
In this class, individuals with bone, muscle, or joint issues can enjoy a low-impact workout consisting of three elements: range of motion exercises, strengthening exercises, and conditioning exercises.
Water Aerobics
This class is designed for all levels and abilities, including those with no swimming experience. Instructors will provide needed modifications in order for you to adjust your workout and improve your health with the benefits of water.
