Summer Day Camp at the YMCA

10 themed weeks & field trips for ages 5* - 12

*5-year-olds must have completed kindergarten.

Day Camp is a summer-long program that features the Y's renowned curriculum, developed to help close the summer learning gap, while integrating physical exercise, structured and spontaneous play, literacy, STEM-based activities, field trips, swimming and more.

Our Curriculum

Daily schedules focus on supporting each child's academic achievement through a variety of strategies, including:

Additionally, camp will follow weekly summer camp themes with disguised learning activities.

June 1 - 5
Field Trip: Swimming, local park field day

Say "Aloha" to summer! With beach-themed games and tropical activities, the first week of camp will feel like paradise!

Cruise Around the World

June 8 - 12
Field Trip: Swimming, St. Petersburg Shuffleboard Club, park

All aboard for an unforgettable adventure! Campers will "cruise around the world" as they explore global games, creative cultural activities and exciting destinations... no passport required!

Into the Jungle

June 15 - 19
Field Trip: Swimming, ZooTampa at Lowry Park

Unleash your wild side as we take a safari to learn about animals from all over the world while exploring animal calls, unique habitats and more.

Wild Wild West

June 22 - 26
Field Trip: Swimming, Tampa Bay Rays Game

Saddle up for a rootin' tootin' good time! Campers will head out on an adventure filled with frontier games, cowboy-style challenges and plenty of western fun on the open range!

June 29 - July 3
Field Trip: Swimming, local park, 4th of July cookout

Celebrate America during a red, white and blue colored week. Campers will enjoy patriotic activities while learning about the USA.

July 6 - 10

Get ready for a week of fun and excitement! Enjoy classic carnival games, prizes music, and tasty treats. It's all about laughter, friends and unforgettable memories!

July 13 - 17
Field Trip: Swimming, bowling, YMCA Spelling Bee (branch and association-wide)

Get ready for a storybook adventure! Campers will journey through classic tales and exciting new stories with themed games, imaginative crafts and magical moments on every page!

Holiday Extravaganza

July 20 - 24
Field Trip: Swimming, Chuck E. Cheese

Campers will celebrate a different holiday each day of camp! We'll make holiday crafts, discover traditions from around the world and feel the spirit of giving with a toy drive for the YMCA Neighbor to Neighbor Christmas Program.

July 27 - 31
Field Trip: Swimming, movie theater

Dive into an underwater adventure! Campers will discover ocean creatures, explore sea-themed activities and enjoy splash-tastic games that make every day feel like a journey beneath the waves!

Gear up for the ultimate showdown! Campers will battle it out in fast-paced games, team challenges and epic competitions, all packed with high energy, big laughs and tons of colorful team spirit!
