Community Health Programs
The Y offers many Community Health Programs focused on providing evidence-based support to individuals with specific health needs, including cancer recovery, diabetes prevention, fall prevention, arthritis and joint issues, Parkinson's Disease, blood pressure monitoring and weight loss.
Blood Pressure Self-Monitoring Program
This evidence-based program helps adults with hypertension lower and manage their blood pressure. The program focuses on regulated at-home self-monitoring of one’s blood pressure using proper measuring techniques, individualized support and nutrition education for better blood pressure management. YMCA Diabetes Prevention Program
The YMCA’s Diabetes Prevention Program provides a supportive environment for individuals at risk for type 2 diabetes to lose weight and learn how to reduce the chances of developing the disease. In a classroom setting, a trained lifestyle coach facilitates a small group of participants in learning about healthier eating, physical activity and other behavior changes. Learn More

The YMCA of Greater St. Petersburg is proud to offer two fall prevention programs that aim to help older adults stay more active, energized and independent. Individuals can enroll in one or both of these Community Health Programs simultaneously. Learn More

LIVESTRONG® at the YMCA
LIVESTRONG® at the YMCA is a physical activity and well-being program designed to help adult cancer survivors achieve their holistic health goals.
