Lealman YMCA Preschool Academy Welcomes New Executive Director, Ulas Butler

We are thrilled to introduce our new Lealman YMCA Preschool Academy Director, Ulas Butler, who brings a wealth of experience and a deep passion for early childhood education to our team. With a distinguished career spanning over 18 years in the field, Ulas has consistently demonstrated a commitment to enhancing educational environments and fostering strong community connections.

Serving as the Senior Manager of Education at United Way Suncoast, before joining our team,  Ulas has spent the past three years leading initiatives that support family engagement and collaboration with childcare providers throughout St. Petersburg. His role involves creating impactful programs for families with young children and working closely with community organizations to ensure broad access to educational opportunities.

Prior to his role at United Way Suncoast, Ulas was the Center Director at Lew Williams Center for Early Learning for nearly seven years. There, he excelled in managing the preschool program, ensuring compliance with regulations, and nurturing effective partnerships with stakeholders. His leadership was instrumental in supporting teachers and maintaining a high standard of care and education.

A proud Florida native Ulas holds a BS in Human Services from Springfield College. When not at the Y, he enjoys spending time with his wife and children.
