BIlly Tapp Joins YMCA of Greater St. Petersburg Board of Directors
YMCA of Greater St. Petersburg is proud to welcome Billy Tapp to its Board of Directors. Billy serves as Vice President of Finance and Accounting at Kelvin Group, where he leads the company’s financial reporting and strategy. With over a decade of experience in financial management, he drives profitability and operational efficiency, playing a key role in Kelvin’s continued growth in the industrial and commercial refrigeration industry.
A Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Billy holds both an accounting degree and a Master of Accountancy from the University of Mississippi. He brings a strong analytical foundation and a collaborative leadership style that supports sound financial stewardship and long-term sustainability—critical strengths for advancing the YMCA’s mission.
Before joining Kelvin Group, Billy served in a similar capacity at Probo Medical, a global leader in diagnostic imaging solutions. Prior to that, he worked at PwC, where he developed expertise in financial audit and consulting services. His experience across corporate and advisory environments provides valuable perspective in financial reporting, business strategy, and governance.
In addition to his professional work, Billy is deeply committed to community service. He contributes his expertise to several nonprofit organizations, including the Positive Coaching Alliance, where he mentors high school student-athletes, and St. Petersburg Catholic High School, where he serves on both the Board of Directors and the Finance Committee.
Billy is married to his wife, Meggie, and they have two young sons, Will (7) and Cole (5). Outside of work, he enjoys spending time with his family, traveling, and staying active.
We’re honored to welcome Billy and look forward to the leadership and perspective he will bring as we continue advancing the YMCA’s mission in our community.
