YMCA of Greater St. Petersburg Names Suzanne Delaney as Chief Development Officer

The YMCA of Greater St. Petersburg is pleased to announce that Suzanne Delaney, CFRE, CFRM, has joined the organization as Chief Development Officer, effective April 21, 2026.
With more than 30 years of leadership experience in philanthropy, communications and revenue development, Delaney brings a proven track record of advancing mission-driven organizations and strengthening community impact through strategic fundraising and relationship-building.
As Chief Development Officer and a member of the President/CEO’s senior leadership team, Delaney provides strategic direction and executive oversight for the YMCA’s philanthropic initiatives. She leads all aspects of fundraising and development, including annual giving, major gifts, planned giving, capital campaigns, foundation and corporate relations, donor stewardship and special events. Her leadership will help position the YMCA to expand its reach, deepen community partnerships and inspire a culture of generosity in support of its mission.
Delaney joins the YMCA from Glazer Children’s Museum, where she served as Chief Development Officer and secured some of the largest annual gifts in the organization’s history, resulting in record-breaking fundraising success. Prior to that, she held the role of Chief Development Officer at Ruth Eckerd Hall, where she designed and led multiple phases of a transformative capital campaign.
Earlier in her career, Delaney served as Divisional Advertising Manager for the Tampa Bay Times and as Advertising Director for newspapers in the Pacific Northwest, bringing a strong foundation in communications and revenue strategy to her work in philanthropy.
In addition to leading development efforts, Delaney will also provide support to the YMCA’s Marketing and Communications team during its current leadership transition.
Delaney holds a Bachelor of Science in Communication from Colorado State University Global and a Master of Arts in Mass Communication from the University of Florida. She is both a Certified Fund Raising Executive (CFRE) and a Certified Fund Raising Manager (CFRM).
Outside of her professional work, Delaney enjoys theater and spending time with family and friends. She is deeply committed to community service and has served in numerous leadership roles with local nonprofit and civic organizations.
The YMCA of Greater St. Petersburg is excited to welcome Suzanne and looks forward to the leadership and vision she brings to advancing its philanthropic mission.
